I make unique and small batch decorative and functional objects with a variation of commercial stoneware and locally harvested clay, my pots are hand build or thrown or a combination of both. I use different homemade mixtures of oxides and carbonates pigments, stains, engobes and glazes to decorate my pieces before firing them at a mid-fire temperatures range with my electric kiln in my home studio in Big Sur, Ca.

My life style as a mother of 3 kids allows me to play (a lot with my kids) freely with clay and other elements, living in the dramatic yet peaceful landscape of Big Sur, California influences my practice on a daily basis. I find other inspirations from my childhood spent between industrial cities of Belgium and Mediterranean landscapes of France and Spain.

I embrace defaults and inconsistencies in my pieces, my work is based on playful researches around clay, its natural limits and properties. I believe that handmade objects inspire hope and trust in humanity, divert from capitalism and artisanal techniques are essential to carry on.

My approach to clay is childish and intuitive and self-taught. I am very curious when it comes to experiment with glazes, oxides, found natural elements and all the aspect around firing. My endless learning process allows me to wonder at my pace with all the parameters of the medium.
